Beavers Announcements Week of September 28 meeting

Hi Beaver Families!

It was great to see how many Beavers brought water bottles last week. Keep it up! Reminder to have your beaver scout go toilet BEFORE our beaver meeting.

This week the youth will be divided into smaller groups called Lodges. Lodges are a chance for children of different ages to work together. They will work within their lodge for the rest of the year when they have sit-down activities. Many other activities will involve the whole group or different combinations of youth.

When you come to the meeting, you will see a yellow popcorn sheet at the front desk. You are to write down how much popcorn your beaver sold each week. We will have a draw for prizes each week.

Please sign up for bottle drive using this form online or at the front desk.

Our first bottle drive is this Saturday, September 30, at Nelson School! We need YOU and your families to help out! Drivers to pick up bottles in the back of their cars and Sorters to help sort recyclables. Remember that fundraising is mandatory. It teaches youth the importance of working together and funds our activities and equipment over the year.

Everyone who comes to bottle drive should ALSO bring a bag of refundable bottles or cans.

When you get to the bottle drive, sign in at the desk and you will be given a job to do – sorting or driving. There are disposable gloves and plastic for your car. There will also be some snacks. **NOTE: There is NO bathroom on site.**

SEWING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We desperately need people who can sew!!! You can help by hemming neckers so our group has enough for our investiture ceremony on October 5. It is very simple and instructions & pattern will be provided. Just cut an orange cotton triangle and machine sew the hem, then fold and iron. If you can help, please email me right away.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions, known absences, or would like to help out.
