Early Registration 2015-2016 Year Begins Now

Registration for next year is open now! This years’ returning Beavers will receive their registration forms in the coming weeks.

Are you new? Email Rosie to arrange registration form drop off during one of our indoor meetings. Our group accepts paper registration forms only. Fee payment by cheque is required at the time of registration to hold your spot (if there is financial need talk to Rosie about No One Left Behind).

We have 8 of our 15 Beavers moving up to Cubs or moving to a different area, so there is plenty of space!

After the 8 spots are filled, we will only be able to accept more children if parents volunteer to help our group. Scouts Canada requires we have 1 Scouter for every 5 children at each meeting.

Don’t feel ready to lead games or crafts? That’s OK! Our returning Scouters (Rosie, Tim and Nardene) can do that.  Registered parent Scouters help us by ensuring SAFETY through supervision, set-up and clean-up of activities!  They also help us prepare the best program possible!  Check our volunteer page for more information or talk to any of the volunteer Scouters.

April 2015 Beavers Report

All the busy beavers had a great April. There was a LEGO theme sleepover at the beginning of the month, a Pancake Breakfast at the church, a Bottle Drive, AND the Burnaby Area Beaveree (Pirate-theme!!) rounded off the month.

Our regular meetings have included preparation for the Pirate Beaveree, Plant Dissection, and about Bats and the Food Chain.

Last week we had an excellent session about personal and public emergency. The Beavers collaged emergency kits and decided what should go inside them. Then we did an oil spill simulation and practiced using absorbents, dispersents, and mechanical filtration to clean water after an oil spill.
