Hi Beaver Families!
Last week I handed out a worksheet about the Winter Skills Stage 1 badge. This is meant to help beavers who did not go to Winter Fun Afternoon complete the badge. They can answer the questions by drawing or writing, or by bringing in other pictures and telling me about it.
As I said last week, "If it is not fun, do not do it". Badges are a CHOICE. The worksheet is not homework. It is to HELP those who want to get the badge to organize their thoughts. We will do winter skills again next year in Beavers.
The front section covers things kids need to know to be safe in the snow at Stage 1.
At the back of the worksheet are the winter activities. These are fun and your child should mark the list if he or she has done them already (Like ‘build something out of snow’).
Today is a snowy day – a perfect chance for your child to plan their winter clothes and get outside and take a walk in the snow at a park, help the neighbours shovel their walk, and have fun out there.
March 9 – Final day of building Beaver Buggies. Parents we need some volunteers to help at the beginning of the meeting to help youth hammer in the wheels. If you can help, please bring a hammer. It is VERY important the nails go in straight, otherwise the car does not drive properly.
March 9 is also our LAST Session before Spring Break. Please note the calendar:
Thursday March 9 – Last Beaver Meeting before Spring Break
March 13-26 Spring Break
Wednesday March 29 – Beaver Buggy Races REPLACE the Thursday meeting
Saturday April 1, 2017: Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for the Church and the Last Bottle Drive of the year! Sign up sheet for Bottle Drive will be emailed next week.
Thursday April 6, 2017 – First regular meeting after Spring Break. From April-June, many of our meetings will be outdoors at local parks and trails.
If you have questions, please email me.
