Beaver Scouts Final Meeting Tomorrow – Location attached

Hi Beaver Parents,

It’s hard to believe the year is over. We’ve had so many adventures and so much fun.

Here is a map showing where we will be meeting tomorrow, and some instructions.

All of the children will be receiving a year-end crest and a certificate tomorrow. Some children will be also receiving badges they have earned. We will be recognizing the growth and development of everyone at our ceremony tomorrow.

The event is a "picnic" but please just bring snacks to share as most people will have had dinner. I’d like you to please bring your own dishes if you wish to use a plate, otherwise it will be napkins. 🙂

See you at 630 near the Upper Pond, Central Park (See map!)

Yours,

Scouter Rosie

Group Camp June 17 & Swim-Up June 15

Hi Everyone,

Swim-Up & Toy Drive June 15
Please ensure you bring a clean, good condition toy for the toy drive for the community service project.

Your youth should have all his or her uniform for this coming meeting as it is a ceremony.

Group Camp
If anyone wants their child to go to group camp but does not have a ride for their child please email me.

Also, if someone wants their child to attend this final camp of the year but needs to stay overnight with their child, please email me, there may be room for you.

The Group Camp runs as follows:

Saturday June 17 – 10am check-in
Sunday June 18 12pm Check-out

Cost: $25 for 1 night.

We will be sleeping in a lodge at the BC Hydro Stave Falls Lodge and Campsite. The location is available on Google Maps.

The site is at the boundary between Maple Ridge and Mission. It is a driving distance of about 60km from our meeting hall. In Maple Ridge, you take Dewdney Trunk Road and turn up the Florence Lake Forest Service Road.

I know that some of you were concerned about the time and distance to drive. I note that when we checked google directions it was still rush hour which altered the driving time. With ideal traffic conditions it should be just over an hour to drive there. So, even though the location feels remote it is not much further away.

If you would like to add your child to my list of attendees, please email me ASAP so we ensure we buy enough food and supplies.

I’ve attached the camp gear list.

Thanks everyone!
