Beaver Meeting – Oct 26 – Halloween Party

Hi Beaver Families!

It is our Halloween Party this Thursday, October 26, so Beavers are encouraged to come in Costume!

Lost and Found

1 black long-sleeved turtleneck

1 blue rain jacket

Reminder to campfire participants

If you borrowed a reusable cup for hot chocolate please wash and return it to me.

Upcoming

Since the weather *might* hold, I’m considering a short hike (in Burnaby) on this Sunday October 29 at 10am -please email me to let me know if this is of interest – if we have enough youth and scouters we can go ahead with this idea.

Saturday, November 11 is our Remembrance Day Parade (10-noon). We do expect all Beavers to attend. Please email me if there is a reason your beaver cannot attend this important community event.

See you Thursday!

Beaver Campfire Last Minute Information

Hi Beaver Families!

Beaver Campfire will be tomorrow night at 6pm. 🙂

Campfire starts at 6pm, so please aim to get there by 5:45 or earlier!

5:45 Check-in with Scouter Rosie
6:00 Campfire Ceremony Begins
7:00 Hot Chocolate and treats served to Beavers and Scouters, and Parents pick up their Beaver!
7:10pm Check Out with Scouter Rosie

Location: Warner Loat Park, Burnaby BC – 4252 Piper Avenue – See attached map. I usually take the Winston Slip off Lougheed Highway and then turn right onto Piper.

NOTE: there is very limited parking at this location, and there will be roughly 100 people attending this event. Come early and drive carefully. When you arrive you will be directed to the temporary family parking lot. You must WALK YOUR CHILD to the check-in location near the Scouter’s parking lot. Do NOT send your child alone. **Scouters are reminded to identify themselves to the traffic guides**

It is my understanding that crests for this event will be handed out next month.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Uniforms, neckers, Beaver hats, head-to-toe raingear
A travel mug for hot chocolate

A note about rain: We always say that Beavers aren’t made of sugar so they don’t melt in the rain! All Scouting events are rain or shine. Please always ensure your child has chosen the right clothes for the weather, including waterproof outer layers. In winter, remember that warm layers are the best option.

Please be ON TIME to pick up your child! After that campfire fun, we will all be eager to relax at home.

See you tomorrow!!
