Meeting #34 – Year End Picnic and Swim Up Ceremony (Jun 20, 6:30pm – 7:30pm)

Dear Beaver Families

Our final meeting of the 2018-2019 Scouting Year is tomorrow evening! Can you believe how fast the time has flown by?

We will be having an all-sections year end celebration and ceremony for all the scouting youth. This event is an important closing to our year. Please come to enjoy some time together and celebrate every youth’s growth.

All Beaver Scout youth will be receiving a certificate and activity crests earned in the year.

We have had many adventures with the Beaver Scouts this year. We have had sleepovers and camps, campfires and a visit to the salmon hatchery in North Vancouver. We’ve gone sailing, hiking, had a winter fun day, and learned a lot of skills at our meetings, including working on Vertical, Scoutcraft, Emergency Aid, Trail, and Camp knowledge and skill sets. We’ve done food-safe cooking, arts and crafts, and played a LOT of games. I think we’ve all had some good laughs at Beaver Scouts, and we’ve all grown.

Your children have all had the opportunity to help make decisions, lead games and ceremonies, take responsibility for their equipment, and help each other. They have all come a long way since September. It has been a real pleasure to spend time with you all.

You are welcome to bring some nut-free snacks to share, if you wish. You can also bring a camp chair to sit on, as this meeting is outside in the field at Burnaby Foreshore Park. See the attached map for the location.

Any White Tail that has a final contribution to the charity project may bring it tomorrow. If a white tail did not complete the badge requirements and wants to work on the North Star Award over summer, please email me.

See you all tomorrow!

Yours,

Rosie
